전남도는 11일부터 2주간 가축 폭염 피해 예방 대책 추진상황에 대한 일제점검을 실시한다고 밝혔다. 이번 점검은 각 시군의 현장 대응 실태를 직접 확인하고 사전 예방 체계를 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.
실제로 지난해 전남 지역에서는 폭염으로 인해 229개 농가에서 돼지, 닭, 오리 등 약 37만 마리가 폐사했으며, 피해 금액은 약 51억 원에 달하는 것으로 추산된다. 도는 이러한 피해 재발을 막기 위해 행정력을 집중할 계획이다.
