브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당은 빗썸의 ‘비트코인 오입금(유령 비트코인)’ 사건과 관련해 금융당국의 신속하고 엄정한 조사를 촉구했다.
김지호 민주당 대변인은 7일 브리핑에서 “이른바 ‘유령 비트코인’ 사태는 단순한 입력 실수를 넘어 가상자산 거래소의 내부 통제와 장부 관리 시스템에 구조적 허점이 있음을 드러낸 사건”이라며 이같이 밝혔다.
김 대변인은 “실제로 보유하지 않은 자산이 장부상 거래에 활용되고, 그 과정에서 가격 변동과 투자자 혼란이 발생했다”며 “결코 가볍게 볼 수 없는 사안”이라고 지적했다.
그는 “가상자산 시장은 신뢰를 기반으로 작동하는데, 거래소의 전산 오류 하나가 시장 전반의 변동성을 키우고 그 부담이 투자자에게 전가된다면 시장의 지속 가능성을 담보할 수 없다”고 말했다.
이어 “장부 거래와 실제 블록체인 자산 간 실시간 검증 체계 구축과 함께 다중 확인 절차를 도입해야 한다”며 “인적·시스템 오류를 동시에 차단할 수 있는 내부통제 시스템 마련이 시급하다”고 강조했다.
또 “거래소 전반의 내부통제 기준과 전산 시스템 안정성에 대한 감독을 강화해야 한다”며 “유사 사고 발생 시 투자자 피해를 최소화할 수 있도록 보호·보상 절차에 대한 명확한 기준을 마련해야 한다”고 촉구했다.
김 대변인은 “민주당은 가상자산 시장의 혁신과 성장을 지지한다”면서도 “그 전제는 언제나 투자자 보호와 시장 안정”이라고 밝혔다.
