신천지예수교회는 1월22일 “‘경선 개입 동원설, 당비 대납’ 보도에 대한 신천지예수교의 입장”이라는 제목의 입장문을 발표했다.
이 입장문에서 “신천지예수교회는 특정 정당의 경선 과정에 조직적으로 개입하거나, 후보를 지원하기 위한 계획적인 행동, 당비 대납 등을 한 사실이 없다”고 주장했다.

신천지예수교회측이 입장문에서 주장하는 4개항 내용은 아래와 같다.
